WEDNESDAY, 23RD OCTOBER, 2019

TEXT: HOSEA 4:6-9

  1. my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. “Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.
  2. The more priests there were, the more they sinned against me; they exchanged their glorious God for something disgraceful.
  3. They feed on the sins of my people and relish their wickedness.
  4. And it will be: Like people, like priests. I will punish both of them for their ways and repay them for their deeds.

TOPIC: IGNORANCE OF GOD’S WORD

Ignorance is the lack of knowledge on something or failure to do what is good. Ignorance of God’s word is punishable. In this text, Israel was in constant crises because it has lost its relationship with God through lack of knowledge of the law. The priests, who were the custodians and instructors of God’s law, failed to guide the people aright, but fed on sacrifices of their sins. As a result, God rejected them as priests over his holy nation. Today, our profession of faith is without the true knowledge and glory of God. Some ministers are into prosperity gospel, and others compromise their faith just to earn a living. Acquisition of wealth for fame and popularity has become normal while adherents are wallowing in sin and destitute. How do you teach and apply God’s word in your daily life? God will reject you if you do not please him.

REFLECTION: Those who reject God’s word shall be rejected by him.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, help me to make your word my priority. Amen.

Please, I need the daily walk with Christ on this my android phone. I been trying, invain to download it but I keep getting to be referred on a merry -go-round, thus squandering my data.
